Parade forms available at chamber, city hall

The annual Ritzville Community Parade is slated for Saturday, Aug. 31, beginning at 11 a.m.

Entry forms for the parade can be picked up at the Ritzville Area Chamber of Commerce office or Ritzville City Hall, and forms must be submitted by Monday, Aug. 26.

In addition, forms for the main parade may be filled out on the chamber’s website at http://www.visitritzville.com and clicking on the link “Parade Entry Form” on the right hand side in the middle of the page.

Grand marshals for the 2013 parade are Bruce and Vicki Benzel.

The children’s parade begins at 10:45 a.m. and the theme is “Once Upon a Time,” a theme to encompass Disney oriented entries and fairy tales.

Entry forms are also available at the chamber office and city hall, as well as downloaded at the chamber’s website.

Completed forms may be turned in the day of the parade.

All children participating in the parade should meet at the Dr. Frank R. Burroughs’ Home and Museum by 10 a.m. for judging. Judging begins promptly at 10:15 a.m.

The Burroughs’ Home is located at at 408 West Main Avenue.

First-place ribbons will be awarded in four categories: individual, group, kids with pets and wheels. No motorized entries are allowed in the kiddie’s parade.

Judges will also select a grand prize, and the winner will join the main parade entries for another trip through the parade route.

All kiddie parade entrants will receive a participants ribbon and a popsicle.
