Swannack to compete in national junior rodeo

Tommi Sue Swannack, an eighth grade student at Lamont Middle School, has earned a position on the Washington State/Provincial National Junior High rodeo team, for the second year in a row.

Swannack is going to compete in the goat tying, breakaway roping and target shooting competitions.

She is the daughter of Tom and Holly Swannack of Fishtrap, and recently competed in the Washington Junior High Finals Rodeo in Kennewick, where she won the finals average in both the goat tying and the breakaway roping for buckles and cash prizes.

For the year-end, Tommi has won the state championship in the breakaway roping, the light rifle target shooting competition and the reserve title for goat tying.

She will travel to Gallup, N.M. with her team from June 23-29 to compete at the national finals.
