Whitmore wins 110-meter hurdles, favored to win again

The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague track and field team traveled to Mt. Spokane to compete in the District 7 1B/2B team championships.

Ryan Whitmore was the only event champion of the day and moves on to the district competition as the event favorite in the 110-meter hurdles. He is currently ranked third in the state in the 110 hurdles and sixth in the state for the 300-meter hurdles.

Matt Fryberger is currently suffering from an injury but qualified for the district meet based on his recorded times this season.

Fryberger is competing in the 100-meter and 200-meter races, if he recovers from his injury in time.

The LRS athletes qualifying for districts are Whitmore, Fryberger, Andrew Witt, Dustin Kommes, Hugh Hennings, Peyton Kiel, Nick Fleming, Skyler Oestreich, Tyler O’Brien, Kate Schell, Caitlin Schoessler, Maya Wahl, Holly Nygren, Ariana Salazar, Heidi Hennings, Sydney Nelson, Haley Campbell and Katie Manke.
