March 9, 7:22 p.m. – Washtucna complainant called to request extra patrols through the night by the Lind school ball field. The complainant stated they had a work day at the field and left equipment and tools behind for the next day including tractors, cement mixer and rental landscaping equipment.

March 8, 12:48 p.m. – Complainant from Magalia, Calif., requested assistance with getting back their car from South Lutcher Avenue in Lind. Deputy Jeffrey Lane contacted the subject who advised they will be coming to Lind at a later date.

March 7, 7:52 p.m. – Dispatch advised Lincoln County Sheriff’s office had a subject in custody on an Adams County warrant and requested to meet on East David Road in Ritzville. Deputy Aaron Madison met with Lincoln County deputies and transported the subject to the Adams County Jail.

March 7, 6:10 p.m. –

Union Pacific Railroad advised of horses being out on East Hooper Junction Road in Washtucna. Deputy Ben Buriak contacted the owners of the horses and they are retrieving them.

March 7, 5:31 p.m. –

Ritzville complainant advised their children were being treated inappropriately by a school bus driver. Deputy Buriak contacted the complainant who advised their children are being cursed at by a bus driver. Deputy Buriak advised the complainant to address the matter with the school administration. They advised they would. Dep. Buriak called the school administrator and advised them of the complaint. The school administrator advised they would contact the complainant to take care of the situation.

March 6, 11:18 p.m. – Hatton complainant reported loud music on Fourth Avenue. Sergeant Brian Taylor arrived and could hardly hear the music from the street. Sgt. Taylor contacted the homeowner and advised them of the complaint. They advised they would keep the music down.

March 6, 12:47 p.m. –

Washtucna complainant advised of suspicious vehicles parked on North Main Street behind the Java Bloom between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. the past two nights and not staying for very long. The complainant further stated that several vehicles pull in one at a time and leave separately and it appears they are not getting fuel where they are parked. Deputy Buriak advised the complainant to call the Sheriff’s office if the vehicles return.

March 5, 2:26 a.m. – While on patrol Deputy Ned Bernath observed a vehicle parked off the road on North Stelzer Road with two adults embracing outside the open passenger door. This road is an isolated gravel road that is not traveled very much. Dep. Bernath contacted the subjects and learned they had been drinking. Dep. Bernath offered the subjects a ride to the nearest town. The owner of the vehicle stated they wanted to stay and continue embracing. They subject further advised they will not drive away for some time. Dep. Bernath observed the keys on the dash of the vehicle and cleared.

March 4, 4:02 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of locating a vehicle in a washout on North Deal Road. Deputy Dan Verhey located the vehicle and confirmed it was stolen out of Grant County. Evidence was collected and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

March 4, 1:58 p.m. – Lind complainant reported a possible domestic in progress on East 3rd Street. Deputy Lane arrived on scene and determined yelling and cursing occurred due to breaking up a dog fight in the kennel in the backyard. No assault took place and Dep. Lane cleared.

March 4, 8:12 a.m. – Spokane complainant called to request help contacting their son as they have not spoken for some time due to a protection order between them. Deputy Lane contacted a subject at North Plager Road in Ritzville who advised the child is fine. Upon investigation, it was determined there is no protection order in place but a parenting plan order. The subject advised they will address the issue in court on March 5.

March 3, 5:35 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of a subject driving a red and white dirt bike at a high rate of speed in the area of East 4th Street. Deputy Bernath checked the area and spoke with several subjects in the area. It is unknown who was riding the motorcycle or where the driver resides.

March 3, 5:00 p.m. – Lind complainant advised of a theft of railroad ties from a pen at a location on East Hampton Road. Deputy Bernath contacted the owner of the property and learned the subject removing the items from the property was given permission to remove their property at some point. Dep. Bernath advised the owner of the items to make contact with the landlord prior to removing the rest of their belongings. Dep. Bernath advised the complainant of the situation and stated they were not aware the landlord had granted permission to the subject. The complainant further stated they did not want the subject to return to the property. Dep. Bernath advised the complainant to contact the landlord to make arrangements.

March 3, 8:09 a.m. – Complainant from Ephrata reported theft of copper wire from an old barn on North Lind-Hatton Road in Lind. Deputy Verhey responded to investigate.

March 3, 7:05 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of two female subjects that have been stranded at the hospital since 3 a.m. and could not get a ride to Lind. Deputy Verhey was en route to contact a subject in Lind and provided a ride to the subjects.
