Ritzville Police Report

Jan. 3, 10:51 a.m. – Chief Dave McCormick responded to an unattended death on South Fairway Avenue. Upon arrival Chief McCormick observed the deceased. Chief McCormick advised the prosecutor and coroners hold was placed.

Jan. 3, 9:28 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a possible threat in the 200 block of East Wellsandt Avenue at the high school. Complainant advised of a rumor going around of a possible threat at the school. Interviews were conducted by Chief McCormick and the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, and it was determined that there was no actual threat or any incident at the school.

Jan. 2, 3:12 p.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a suspicious circumstance call in the 500 block of West First Avenue at the Colwell Motor Inn.

Complainant advised of suspicious activity at the motel and advised of a suspicious gold car parked outside. Chief McCormick checked the area and located the owner of the car who was working on an electrical problem in the area.

Jan. 2, 8:01 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a malicious mischief call in the 300 block of East Alder Avenue. Complainant advised of finding burnt fireworks against his house on the porch. Complainant advised they believed it occurred sometime during the night and they would like the incident on record.

Jan. 1, 11:53 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a citizen assist call in the 100 block of West Alder Avenue. Complainant advised of a tenant behind on their rent that refuses to leave the property. Chief McCormick advised the complainant this is a civil matter, and they need to seek assistance from an attorney and the court system to remove the tenant from the property.

Jan. 1, 9:45 a.m. – Chief McCormick responded to a welfare check in the 800 block of North Division Street. Complainant advised they had not heard from the subject in a couple of months. Chief McCormick advised the complainant the subject is currently at Life Care Center of Ritzville and scheduled to go back home at the end of the week.

Jan. 1, 4:43 a.m. – Sergeant Mark Cameron responded to a possible vehicle prowl in progress in the 300 block of East Second Avenue. Complainant advised of three subjects walking away from the area towards Palouse.

Sgt. Cameron searched the area and did not locate the described subjects. Sgt. Cameron searched around the victim vehicle and did not observe anything out of place and the doors were locked. Sgt. Cameron advised the complainant of the findings and cleared.

Jan. 1, 1:52 a.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a citizen assist call in the 100 block of North Washington Street at the Eagles Lodge. Upon contact, the complainant requested assistance clearing out the bar for closing. Sgt. Cameron stood by without incident and cleared.

Dec. 31, 12:30 p.m. –

Officer Tom Gracie responded to a disorderly conduct call in the 100 block of West Galbreath Way at the Bronco Inn. Complainant advised of a disorderly subject at the hotel. Upon arrival Officer Gracie contacted hotel staff who advised no one had been disorderly and they were unaware of the call.

Dec. 31, 7:13 a.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a possible theft in the 200 block of East Alder Avenue. Complainant advised they believe an unknown subject siphoned fuel from the complainants’ vehicle. Complainant wanted the situation on record.

Dec. 30, 7:30 p.m. –

Sergeant Cameron responded to a medical call in the 300 block of East Second Avenue. Dispatch advised of a male subject with an injured knee, unable to move. Sgt. Cameron assisted the ambulance crew as needed and cleared.

Dec. 30, 2:40 p.m. – Officer Hunter Klewin found and arrested Patrick J. Pichette on a local warrant on Tenth Avenue and South Division Street.

Dec. 28, 7:15 p.m. – Officer Gracie responded to a citizen assist call in the 100 block of East Sixth Avenue. Complainant requested assistance with another subject.

Officer Gracie contacted the complainant who stated a male subject was being held against their will. Officer Gracie investigated and found the subject was not being held against their will and everything was fine.

Dec. 27, 8:34 p.m. – Sergeant Cameron responded to a suspicious circumstance in the 100 block of East Sixth Avenue. Complainant advised of three subjects sitting in a dark blue pickup by the high school garage and requested an officer patrol the area.
