Lady Broncos to meet Davenport at districts

The Lady Broncos will have a second opportunity to send Davenport packing when they meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, in the first round of the district volleyball tournament in Davenport.

The Lady Broncos finished their regular season with a win in five games Saturday, over Springdale despite a last minute change in match locations due to a power outage, 26-24, 12-25, 25-22, 16-25 and 18-16.

“Luckily we were able to go to a nearby school to play instead of going back Tuesday to play,” said coach Cari Galbreath. “We didn’t play focused but were able to get the victory, which we needed.”

The Lady Broncos ended the regular season in a three-way tie for third place with Northwest Christian and Davenport. Based on the preseason draw, they finished fourth in league.

“Saturday we are ready for Davenport again,” Galbreath said. “I feel that we are very capable of beating them if we can play a disciplined, aggressive game.”
