Robin Braun

Robin Ellen Braun passed away suddenly, June 21, in Spokane at the age of 60.

She was born Sept. 7, 1951, in Fredericksburg, Va., to parents, Paris and Dorothy Trail.

She volunteered for the Children’s Miracle Network, the Washington State School for the Blind, Spokane Public Radio, the Special Education Advisory Commission of the Spokane School District 81 and was an active member of the Moran United Methodist Church and other organizations.

She was the director of the Ritzville Public Library until her departure in December 2010.

It is said Braun enjoyed her professional career as a medical librarian at Deaconess Hospital and the CDC, loved reading and loved to backpack and garden with her husband.

It was also said Braun was an exceptional wife and mother as well as an empowering role model to all and is greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paris Trail.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Joe Braun; daughter, Lark Braun of Spokane; mother, Dorothy Trail of Edenton, N.C .; sister, Toby (Thomas) Pennell of Portsmouth, Va .; brothers, Matthew (Amy) Trail of Lexington, Ky., and Pepper (Debra) Trail of Ashland, Ore .; and numerous aunts, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Braun’s life was held July 3 at Moran United Methodist Church in Spokane. Memorial contributions can be made to Craig Hospital, 3425 South Clarkson Street, Englewood, CO 80110 or to Moran United Methodist Church.
