Patricia “Lorraine” Goetz

Patricia “Lorraine” Goetz passed away in Spokane on June 20 at the age of 87.

She was born in Spokane on December 31, 1924, to Fred and Bernardines Frick. She graduated from Marlin High School in 1942 and attended Whiteworth College.

On April 27, 1946, she married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Goetz.

She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and was the church organist.

She was former president of the Odessa PTA, president of 4-H Leader’s Council and a member of the Germans from Russia Heritage Society.

She also participated in the Host Program at the Odessa Schools. She held all offices in the LWML WA-AK District.

She was most happy when spending time with her family and being surrounded by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Fred and Bernardines; her husband, Richard; son, Jesse Goetz; brother, David Frick; and sister, Allison Swartz.

She is survived by a son, Dennis (Debra) Goetz; daughters, Cheryl (Mike) Nichols, Barbara (Ray) Hayleck and Annette (Charles) Krause; brother, Donald; sister, Phyllis (Chris) Larsen; 12 grandchildren, Michael and Markham Nichols, Charlie, Ryan and Jonathan Hayleck, Adam, Jessie Marie and Jocelyn Krause, Nathan, Jamie, Nicholas and Teshera Goetz; 13 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Drew Wilke, Collette, Michael and Jackson Nichols, Garrett and Jake Hayleck, Cameron, Madi and Molly Hane, Maci and Karter Krause, Carson Goetz and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on June 26 in Odessa. Memorials may be made to the Hospice House of Spokane.
