Annual car show slated in Washtucna

The seventh annual Washtucna Classic Auto Show has been scheduled for Saturday, June 30 at the ball field in Washtucna.

The day’s events are started with a breakfast served by the Washtucna Volunteer Firemen from 7-10 a.m.

Registration for the car show begins at 8 a.m. and there is a $10 registration fee for all vehicles entered. All of the cars are on display from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Lunch begins at 11 a.m. with a meal provided by Cathy Jo’s Catering and concessions from the senior class. Also starting at 11 a.m. is the Civil War Artillery demonstrations by the Keystone Battery A and the First Michigan Light Artillery group.

At 3 p.m., awards are presented to the winners at the car show. The day concludes at 5 p.m. with entertainment at Franks in downtown Washtucna.

During the event, Jim Lisk is going to be sketching his famous western cartoonist caricatures.

Cotton candy and snow cones are going to be provided by Sugar Bomb.

A variety of vendors are going to have booths set up around the car show and some vendors include S & T Crafts and Chester Moore with birdhouses, garden wares and much more. A yard sale is also scheduled during the event.

A 1968 Camaro Pak Rat Racing Car is going to be on display to help raise awareness for the need to support children’s charities. Also on display is a 2012 four-wheel drive 825i Gator, provided by Evergreen Implement.

Jacklin Seed is providing shaded areas during the event and door prizes are going to be awarded throughout the day.
