Ritzville courts succeed at parades

The Ritzville Distinguished Young Women and the Ritzville Rodeo Queen recently went to the Moses Lake Spring Festival, Grand Moonlight Parade on May 26.

Amalia Perez, Brooke Pichette and Taylor White (DYW) were on their float called Girls n’ Pearls, received second place. Haley Oestreich, Ritzville Rodeo Queen, didn’t place.

However the “Official Pooper Scoopers,” consisting of Aaliyah Yaeger and Lacey Miller, won the best dressed clean up crew.

This last weekend, June 2, the girls traveled to Reardan to participate in the Reardan Mule Days Parade.

The Ritzville float won third place, while the Ritzville Rodeo Queen took first place for mounted royalty.

The girls invite everyone to attend the Lind Parade, June 9 at 11 a.m.

The “Girls n Pearls” attended their second parade of the year at Moses Lake on May 26. The day started again with Aaron Esser and Brandn White hauling the float to Moses Lake but not until mid afternoon this time.

Judging took place at 3 p.m. and then it was off to a barbeque, which we all enjoyed very much. Then it was an afternoon of sitting and waiting for the parade to start.

Mom (Jodie Esser) took Taylor, Amalia and myself to the carnival so we could get our tattoos, which yes, they are washable and only last three weeks and we got them on our feet.

We got to see a lot of the friends we had made at the Lilac Parade and we met new friends as well.

When we got lined up to start the parade, we then received our second place ribbon.

The parade was long, but as always we had a lot of fun!

Thanks to Brandn, Stephanie and BJ White – Aaron, Jodie and Bryce Esser, and Dwight Bowman for escorting the float and spending the day with us.
