Hospital district town hall session set at 6 p.m.

A professional facilitator will lead up to a three-hour session tonight, Thursday, May 17, for all interested community members who want to have a say in the planning for the future of local healthcare and the hospital.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the CJ Newland American Legion Memorial Hall on Broadway Avenue in Ritzville.

Adams County Public Hospital District No. 2 is faced with making a number of critical decisions in an effort to ensure quality healthcare continues to be delivered locally for many years to come.

Interim administrator Gary Peck has led the charge to set up a community town hall meeting.

“This is really for the community to come together and talk,” Peck said during the regular meeting of the hospital commissioners in April.

Peck stressed the importance of community participation in this process, which helps provide a basis for future planning. The goal, to keep local healthcare services strong or stronger during the next 50 years.

To accomplish an effective town hall meeting, Peck was able to secure the services of a professional facilitator who has agreed to conduct the meeting free of charge.

Scott O’Brien, director of Strategy and Business Development for Providence HealthCare will lead the forum.
