FFA teams qualify for Nationals

Chapters from across the state converged at the Washington FFA State Convention last week in Pullman to compete and award the state’s outstanding teams.

The Lind FFA Meats Evaluation and Technology Team took first place at the event and are now moving on to the National FFA Convention this fall.

The team consisted of Scott Diefenbach, Mackenzie Ellis, Brandon Knodel, Bridger Smith, Connor O’Neill and Bryson O’Neill.

B. O’Neill placed first overall as an individual, Knodel finished second, C. O’Neill placed fifth, Smith placed tenth, Diefenbach finished in 12th place, and Ellis finished in 17th place individually.

The Marketing team competed at the state convention and placed second overall. The team consisted of Lexie Whitaker, Micheala Doyle and Maya Wahl. Whitaker and Doyle also served as the delegates for the Lind FFA chapter during special sessions at the convention.

The Agronomy team is also moving on to nationals with their first place finish. The team consists of Beau Jones, Grayson Whitaker, Bryden Laird and Dylan Bilodeaux.

When The Journal contacted the Ritzville FFA chapter, advisor Brad Gering said he would provide a complete list of results and photos of the Ritzville chapter accomplishments for next week’s edition of the paper.
