RHS to host “Imagine U @ College” event

Ritzville High School is to be the site of an outreach event called, “Imagine U @ College,” a Washington State University (WSU) sponsored event. The event takes place on Monday, May 21, at the high school.

“Imagine U @ College” provides an opportunity for high school students to get a taste of what college is like and learn how to prepare for the future as a college student.

WSU faculty, staff, students and alumni provide hands-on instruction, discussions on fields of research, and presentations on what it takes to go to college. Presenters come from a variety of different fields, including biological sciences, apparel, merchandising, textiles and design.

“Imagine U @ WSU offers an opportunity for our students to envision a future for themselves beyond high school,” said Lindsey Ross, Lind-Ritzville School Counselor, “I believe Imagine U events help students see the relevance of their current studies to college. I am particularly grateful for the willingness of WSU to provide its resources to send the message to students that regardless of their educational choice, post secondary education in some form will provide more options for future success in their personal career choices.”
