RECOVERING. Patrol, a four or five month old puppy, is shown with an attendant during recovery after a three-hour surgery to remove a broken piece of femur from his hip. It is expected to be six weeks until Patrol can be adopted.
About two weeks ago, an Adams County Pet Rescue (ACPR) volunteer discovered two puppies abandoned and malnourished just outside of Othello. Both dogs had been scavenging for food and one puppy, named Patrol, appeared to have a major issue with one of his back legs.
Patrol was immediately taken to Broadway Animal Clinic where it was discovered that the head of the femur had fractured and surgery was needed.
Patrol, a 40-pound Boarder Collie and Anatolian Guard dog mix, successfully made it through the three-hour surgery to remove the broken bone and is continuing to recover.
