Mar. 10, 10:17 p.m. – Deputy Dan Verhey located debris in the roadway at North Benzel Road and East Roloff Road, Ritzville. Dep. Verhey removed the items.

Mar. 10, 6:19 p.m. – Agency assist request out of Moses Lake to area of East Leisle Road, Ritzville. Suicidal female last heard from on Road 3 and Road W in Grant County, headed eastbound in a black Mitsubishi Gallant. Subject told her family she was going to overdose on painkillers. Unknown if they have already been ingested. {{more{{

Mar. 10, 3:45 a.m. – Adams County Corrections Officer Scott Carruth located an open door to the basement of the Sheriffs office. No access was available to the jail but access was available to the courthouse. Deputy Verhey and Officer Carruth searched the courthouse and found no subject inside. All doors were secured.

Mar. 10, 1:40 a.m. – Lind complainant requested contact on North I Street. Deputies Jeffrey Lane and Verhey contacted complainant who advised their child was taken by the other parent and is in the Tri-Cities area. There is no parenting plan in effect.

Mar. 10, 12:49 a.m. – Ritzville complainant reported hearing someone on their deck. Deputies Verhey and Lane checked the area and were unable to locate any persons or vehicles in the area.

Mar. 9, 7:12 p.m. – WSP requested agency assistance with traffic stop at a location on East Highway 26, Washtucna. Per Sergeant Troy Mock, Deputy Ned Bernath responded. Prior to Dep. Bernath arriving, it was learned WSP had a second unit already enroute. Dep. Bernath discontinued.

Mar. 8, 2:19 p.m. – Adams County Superior Court requested deputy assistance due to a disorderly juvenile in court. Deputy Ben Buriak and Sergeant Stacy Flynn responded from the Sheriff’s office and detained the juvenile. The juvenile was detained until Martin Hall took custody. Units cleared without incident.

Mar. 8, 11:48 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised that there were two pickups with trailers at a residence on North Batum Road, Odessa, that appeared to be loading things. Deputy Buriak contacted the property owner and determined the vehicles were supposed to be there. Dep. Buriak cleared without incident.

Mar. 8, 7:13 a.m. – Ritzville complainant advised they found a young, male, black Lab near Highway 21 and Rosenoff Road. If anyone calls to claim the animal, the complainant will hold it at their place.

Mar. 7, 1:21 p.m. – Lind complainant reported a silver car on the property on North Jantz Road, Ritzville, that doesn’t belong there. Deputy Buriak advised. Dep. Buriak contacted the vehicle and three subjects hunting on the property. Through investigation it was determined they had permission to be there. Dep. Buriak cleared without incident.

Mar. 7, 11:37 a.m. – Lind complainant requested hulk vehicle form on East Second Street. Deputy Buriak filled out the form and provided it to the complainant.

Mar. 7, 8:47 a.m. –

Complainant from Creston advised of a vehicle seen exiting their property on West Lind-Warden Road and heading towards Warden. It was later discovered between 250-300 feet of wire was stolen from the property. Deputy Buriak contacted complainant and was advised the wire was valued between $1,800-2,200.

Mar. 6, 7:44 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised the roadway on Lauer Road south was very rutted due to trucks hauling out straw from the area. Complainant advised they believed the roadway was hazardous to the motoring public due to the rutting. Deputy Verhey checked the area and found the roadway was rutted but was not any more hazardous than other county roadways. Public Works was advised of the complaint.

Mar. 6, 2:43 p.m. – Ritzville complainant advised of a green vehicle backed into a garage on abandoned property near North Marcellus Road and East Griffith Road. Deputy Buriak located the vehicle and two subjects on the property. One subject was taken into custody while the other subject was able to escape arrest and flee in the suspect vehicle. Subjects were scrapping metal on the property.

Mar. 5, 11:25 p.m. –

Complainant contacted WSP from Hatton rest area regarding a possible domestic assault. Upon contact, Deputy Verhey, Troopers Mark Shepherd and Dustin Stephan found no assault took place. The female subject had been sleeping and has medical issues. The male subject attempted to wake her up and she was not waking. Per the female, it is normal for the male to have to shake her and call out to her to wake her up. Per the female these actions are not unwanted.

Mar. 5, 10:37 p.m. – Agency assistance to jail for fight involving four inmates. Deputies Verhey and Aaron Madison and Troopers Shepherd and Stephan and Officer Hunter Klewin all responded to assist. Prior to all of the above arriving, the fight had broken up. Deputies Verhey and Madison assisted the jail as needed. No inmates wanted to press charges.

Mar. 5, 9:37 p.m. – Deputy Verhey observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on East Danekas Road and North Bauman Road, Ritzville. On contact with the driver, it was found the driver was driving with a suspended license in the third degree for unpaid tickets. Chad Michael Pichette was arrested and issued an infraction for fail to stop at stop sign and criminal citation for suspended license third degree.

Mar. 4, 8:25 p.m. – Deputy Verhey stopped to check on Ritzville Police Officer Klewin. Klewin received a non-extraditable warrant hit and driving with suspended license. Dep. Verhey stood by for officer safety. Once suspect was in custody, Dep. Verhey transported a minor to McDonalds to meet a ride. Dep. Verhey cleared and advised Sergeant Mock of the assist.

Mar. 4, 8:24 p.m. – Dispatch advised of a 911 hang up call from a location in Hatton. Upon contact it was discovered that a child had been playing with the phone.

Mar. 4, 6:08 p.m. – Lind complainant reported an older pickup truck parked on Roxboro Road one tenth of a mile down from their residence, with its lights off. Complainant approached the vehicle and the subject vehicle left the area at a high rate of speed east in the direction of Lind. Complainant believed the vehicle had two males in it. Deputy Verhey checked the area and was unable to locate the subject vehicle.

Mar. 4, 1:43 p.m. – Ritzville complainant called and advised they are missing an item from their residence on East Tokio Road. Complainant only wanted to report it and did not want deputy contact at his residence.

Mar. 4, 12:43 a.m. – Lind complainant reported speeding/racing trucks in the area of East Fifth Street. Complainant observed the trucks come across the street.

The subjects that live at this address have been an ongoing nuisance for the complainant. Deputy Verhey checked the area and observed no moving vehicles. Dep. Verhey did see marks from spinning tires on the roadway.

Contact was made with the listed male and Dep. Verhey was unable to prove who was driving the vehicles.

The listed male was verbally warned and asked to stop all disruptive behavior.
