Hilda Josephine Roberts

Hilda Josephine (Abrahamson) Roberts passed away peacefully at Life Care Center in Ritzville on March 7 at the age of 100.

She was born on July 19, 1911, in Spokane to Hjalmar and Josephine M. (Paradis) Abrahamson.

She met the love of her life, Hobert Clayton Roberts, and they were married Jan. 25, 1930.

They moved to Marengo, Wash., in 1943, where she worked as a railroad clerk and the town postmaster.

They moved back to Spokane in 1957, where she worked at a hearing aid store.

She was installed as Madam President of Eagles Aerie No. 2, in Spokane, on June 1, 1965, and was an Eagles member for over 65 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Judith Roberts Becker in 1973; her husband, Hobert in 1978; and great grandson, Terry Lindblade in 2002.

She is survived by a daughter, Roberta (Charles) Buch, Ritzville; a grandson, Dr. Herbert (Lisa) Becker, Chicago, three granddaughters; Dr. Valerie Eckley, Ritzville, Shannon Lindblade, Tacoma and Susan (Rick) Stewart, Crofton, Neb .; five great granddaughters and two great grandsons.

Graveside services and interment were Saturday, Mar. 10 at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Danekas Funeral Home and Crematory, Ritzville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
