Violent home invasion in Othello

On Friday, Mar. 2 at 9:40 p.m., the Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a home invasion robbery on the 2000 block of Bench Road, one mile south of Othello. When deputies arrived, they located a 23-year-old male who had been struck in the face with the butt of a shotgun. He was transported to Othello Community Hospital by ambulance. He was treated at the hospital for injuries and then released.

When the robbery occurred, the 23-year-old male, his 34-year-old wife and 3-year-old son were in the home. The three suspects knocked on the door, and when the door was opened, the suspects forced their way into the home. Of the three suspects, two had their faces covered with a blue bandana, and the third held a shotgun.

After striking the male homeowner, all three victims were forced into a bedroom while the house was ransacked. The suspects stole electronics, alcohol, the couple’s wedding rings, and their car. Three additional suspects remained outside the residence.

On Saturday, at approximately 3 a.m., Othello Police Department located the stolen car occupied by two people.

Othello Police stopped the car and the two were taken into custody and booked into the Adams County Jail. The shotgun was recovered in the stolen car.

The investigation has led to the arrest of two additional adults and one 17-year-old. As of this date, one suspect is still at large.

The male juvenile was booked into Martin Hall in Medical Lake on charges of armed robbery, first degree burglary, second degree theft and theft of a motor vehicle.
