John Daniel Cormier

John Daniel “JD” Cormier died at the age of 59 on Tuesday, Feb. 21, in Baton-Rouge, La.

He was born in Bremerton Naval Hospital in Bremerton, Wash., on Sept. 14, 1952, to Norman G. and Amarant M. Cormier.

He was a graduate of Broadmoor High School in Baton-Rouge, La. He earned an Associate’s Degree from Waldorf College, Forest City, Iowa. He received police certification from Forsyth Technical Community College, in Winston-Salem, N.C.

In 1974, he joined the Kernersville Police Department and in 1978, he returned to Baton-Rouge and joined the East Baton-Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Department. He ret...
