Four-in-a-row for Lady Broncos

Four straight wins have helped lift the spirits of the Lady Broncos, as they bagged three league victories and a non-league triumph over Rosalia. Since the end of the Christmas vacation the team has defeated Liberty, 45-20, stunned Kettle Falls in a come-from-behind win, 48-47 and held off Rosalia, 45-41. The biggest victory was the win over Kettle Falls after trailing by 17.

“We dug a big hole right out of the gate,” head coach Randy Heidenreich said.

A 17-9 effort in the fourth quarter resulted in a last minute win.

“Their press caused a lot of turnovers. And both teams had 26 fouls in the first half,” Heidenreich said.

Down 11 points with three minutes to play, the Lady Broncos charged back, spawned by a collective effort. Davis Killian hit a couple of field goals, Kailey York sank big free throws, followed by Chelsey Heidenreich draining a three. Killian then sank two free throws to tie the game with 20 seconds to play. Kettle Falls took the lead with bucket.

That was erased when Heidenreich sank a long range three-pointer.

Killian and York scored nine in the game. Jenna and Andrea Bennett each had seven points. Heidenreich and Dylan Killian each finished with six. Brooke Pichette and Brittany Ste. Marie scored two.

Against Liberty, Davis scored 12 to lead the team. Andrea added 11 points and Jenna had nine. Ste. Marie finished with four while Maya Wahl, Pichette and Dalyn each had two. Heidenreich, York and Cathrine Hentges scored one.
