Tigercats split games at the Dayton Tourney

The LaCrosse-Washtucna Tigercats traveled to Dayton for the holiday tournament on Dec. 29 returning with split results after winning a hard fought battle against Wahkiakum and losing to Dayton. The Tigercats and the Wahkiakum Mules were tied at 51 points each at the end of the fourth quarter, taking the game into overtime.

From there, the Tigercats scored nine points and the Mules only scored four, giving the Tigercats a win of 60-55.

Jed Zimmer led the team in scoring with a total of 17 points, five of which he scored in overtime. Darcy Stamper has a total of 13 points in the game.

Matt Stubbs, Jake Aune and Justin Wargo all ended the night with eight points each, followed by Austin Summers who had four points and Sam Harder who had two.

On night two of the tournament, the Tigercats took on the hosts of the tournament, the Dayton Bulldogs. The Bulldogs ran away with the lead early, with a score of 21-8 at the end of the first quarter and 40-17 at halftime.

The Tigercats lost the Dec. 30 game with a final score of 30-66.

Stubbs led the team with seven points. Zimmer had six, Alec Fleming had five points.

Aune had four points and Stamper, Summers, Jim Hopkins and Harder all ended the game with two points each.
