Apple Cup creates opportunity for food drive

The FBLA and FFA chapters at Ritzville High School are hosting a rivalry food drive in association with the Apple Cup game.

Community members are encouraged to bring non-perishable food to the high school lobby during regular school hours. There are two boxes set up under the window; one is red in support of the Cougars and one is purple in support of the Huskies.

The food drive starts on Nov. 14 and will continue until Nov. 23, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving break. If you are unable to drop off food at the high school, contact Suzette Ellis at the front office and donations can be picked up from your location. Food may still be dropped off at the high school on Monday, Nov. 28 after the Apple Cup is played at Qwest Field.

The team that wins the food drive will be announced the week after Thanksgiving along with the total amount of food collected. All food donations will go to the The Pantry just in time for the holiday season.

The FBLA and FFA chapters encourage you to come support your favorite team and also help those in need.
