Fagan to host telephone town hall Tuesday

With the updated state revenue forecast slated to be announced Thursday, Sept. 15, Rep. Susan Fagan will host a 9th District telephone town hall meeting Tuesday, Sept. 13, to listen to constituent perspectives and answer questions.

The call will begin promptly at 6:25 p.m. and last one hour. Constituents can participate by dialing 1-877-229-8493 and, when prompted, entering PIN number 15605. Once on the line, callers will be able to ask a question by pressing star 3 (*3) on their telephone keypads. Staff will assist callers with asking their questions “live” with Fagan during the call.

“During the interim, I have been traveling around the Ninth District listening to citizens, including local leaders, agriculturists, educators, small-business owners and our seniors, among others. However, I know there are some folks who cannot make it to in-person meetings. That’s why this call is so important,” said Fagan, R-Pullman. “We are facing some very challenging times in our state. I want to hear everyone’s voice and ideas. My hope is this is just one more way to make sure constituents can tell me what concerns them most and offer solutions.”

At the end of the one-hour teleforum, anyone who stays on the line can leave a voicemail message with comments or questions, which will be forwarded to her office.

“Residents who cannot attend the call, are welcome to send e-mails and call or write letters,” added Fagan. “I want everyone in the district to feel they can participate in their state government. I look forward to a constructive two-way conversation on the issues facing the Ninth District and the state.”

The 2011 legislative session ended May 25, after an additional 30-day special session. The 2012 legislative session begins Jan. 9.
