Spokane resident sues Adams County, sheriff for 2009 assault in jail

A former resident in the Adams County Jail filed a lawsuit against Adams County and Sheriff Doug Barger in Lincoln County Superior Court on June 7.

Thomas Davis is seeking unspecified damages from Adams County and Barger for alleged negligence in connection with a May 2009 assault by six Hispanic males in the jail.

Davis is seeking a judgment against the county and sheriff for general damages for pain and suffering, mental distress, anguish, humiliation, fear of assaults, fear of death, fear of isolation and loss of enjoyment of life;
