    Lucille E. Kubik passed peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 11. She was born November 16, 1923, in Lind to Charles and Pauline (Koch) Rushmeier. She attended grade school in Prosser and graduated from Lind High School in 1941. She and George Kubik eloped and married June 4, 1941. They farmed in the Ritzville area until retiring in 1983.     Oct. 2, 10:51 a.m. – Chief Dave McCormick responded to a possible theft in the 200 block of East Wellsandt Road at the high school. Upon contact, the complainant advised that approximately two weeks ago, while decorating for homecoming, their child had a Kindle Fire and skull candy headphones stolen from their backpack. The complainant advised they contacted Kindle to have the operation shut down so the unit cannot be used until Kindle re-activates the unit.     For anyone and everyone who knows me it should be no surprise when I tell you that I am not a Yankee fan. It goes back to my days as a Dodger fan and the heartbreaks I had when the pin stripers would defeat the Dodgers in the World Series. I was able to celebrate on a couple of occasions when the Dodgers turned the tables on New York to win it all.     After many years of business owners and concerned citizens requesting something be done about the bicyclists, skateboarders and rollerbladers on the downtown business district sidewalks, the City Council passed an ordinance prohibiting these modes of transportation on the sidewalks between Adams Street on the west, Columbia Street on the east, Broadway Avenue on the north and Railroad Avenue on the south.     John and Megan (Wellsandt) Munro are pleased to announce the arrival of their third child, a son, Cooper Tate Munro, born on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Deaconess Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Spokane.
