    The 2018 Lind Combine Demolition Derby Extravaganza Weekend began with thrilling excitement on Friday, June 8, as cars and pickups roared into the Lind Arena to race for the coveted title.     The annual Lind Field Day at the Lind Experiment Station allowed farmers with an opportunity to visit the research field plots and learn about alternatives to current practices on June 14.     Gayle and Gaynel Gering will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on June 21. Gaynel is the daughter of Ted and Mildred Wellsandt and Gayle is the son of Joe and Pearl Gering. The couple was married in 1958 at the Lutheran Church in Ritzville. They began their married life in Moses Lake where Gayle worked as the head mechanic at the Sugar Beet factory.
