Delores M. Oestreich, 85, died on January 17, in Moses Lake. She is survived by her son, Steve (Lori) Oestreich, of Queen Creek, AZ; her grandson, Ryan (Michelle) Oestreich, San Tan Valley, AZ and her granddaughter Stephanie (Rick) Canterbury, Moses Lake. In less than ideal weather conditions, the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos tennis team faced Odessa-Harrington to begin league competition. The team started in Harrington where they matched up against Odessa-Harrington and a single Colfax athlete on March 28. Head Coach Liz Melville said the athletes had to compete in extreme weather conditions, as the wind raced through the court. Overall, Odessa-Harrington defeated LRS with a final score of 3-2. Lucy Scott Valley was born 2:42 p.m. on March 2 at St. Luke’s Regional Center in Boise, Idaho, to Matt and Kim Valley. She weighed 8 lb. 5 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. After slowly chipping away at the project for nearly two years, the Lind-Ritzville High School now has an operational greenhouse for students to use for agricultural courses. The Lind-Ritzville FFA Alumni purchased the greenhouse building and a donation from the Adams County Commissioners helped get the groundwork going on the project. Horse drawn carriages are a thing of the past ending their 300-year run in the early 20th century. Tom Strohmaier of Lind has creatively taken the iron pieces from carriages and buggies and welded them together, bringing the iron back to life in giant sculptures. The Lind-Ritzville FFA Chapter is continuing its tradition in excellence and achievement in the Agronomy contest, as four more FFA members have qualified to compete at the National FFA Convention this fall.
