    The Ritzville School District is hosting an information bond meeting for voters interested in learning more about the bond on the Feb. 14 Special Election ballot.   • Ralston Grange hosting annual cribbage tournament

    The Ralston Grange will host their fourth annual cribbage tournament on Saturday, Feb. 11, at their hall. The event will begin at 2 p.m. and is open to all community members wishing to participate. An entry fee of $5 will be collected to go towards winning cash prizes. No experience in playing cribbage is needed to participate in the event and participants will have an opportunity to learn the rules of the game prior to the start of the tournament.   • Hospital Board creates committee to determine use for former EACC building

    The Hospital District No. 2 Board of Commissioners unanimously agreed during their Jan. 26 meeting to form a committee to decide the best option for the former East Adams Care Center (EACC) building.   • Ritzville crews respond to structure fire

    The Ritzville Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the 500 block of East Fourth Avenue on Sunday, Jan. 22. Ritzville Fire Chief Bill Banner reported the department received a call from dispatch at 6:41 p.m. stating the caller saw smoke and flames were visible from a fire in the attic of the home. The department quickly responded to the call with 15 members on the city’s ladder and engine trucks, the county rescue and two county engines.   • Lind Town Council renews annual ACSO contract

    The Lind Town Council approved the annual Adams County Sheriff’s office contract agreement during their regular meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 24. Mayor Jamie Schmunk presented the agreement for the Council to approve the contract totaling $13,364 for one year of service. She informed the Council they did not sign the three-year agreement in 2016 due to the need for additional service from the Sherrif’s department. The bond seeks to issue no more than $11 million of general obligation bonds, maturing within 15 years and levying property taxes an estimated $2.81 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
