Broncos softball see season slip away

YAKIMA – The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos softball team watched its season end with a 6-4 loss, Friday, May 24, in the opening round of the state tournament at the Gateway Sports Complex.

After taking an early lead in the game, the score was tied at two until late.

Warden would score in the bottom of the sixth inning to control the game.

Ritzville would add two runs in the seventh inning, however, Warden would score again, taking the two-run victory, and knocking the Broncos out of state playoffs.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague end their season with an overall record of 15-9 record. They finished the season ranked as the 18th team in the state for the 2B division, according to the WIAA.

Warden would advance all the way to the state championship game against the Adna Pirates. Adna would win 13-5, winning the state championship for the second straight year. They also finished second in the 2021-22 season.
