'Stomp and Shout' coming

Blecha to lead rock'n'roll presentation

RITZVILLE - Ritzville Public Library will host a special presentation of "Stomp and South: The Untold Story of Northwest Rock & Roll" on April 19.

The program will take pace at 5:30 p.m. at the library, 302 W. Main Ave.

Peter C. Blecha will be lead a public discussion during the presentation.

Blecha is the director of the Northwest Music Archives in Seattle, and a historian, author and musician.

Blecha was a member of several rock'n'roll bands in the early 1970s in Western Washington, including Valhalla, Warbucks, the Debbies and the Chains of Hell Orchestra, among others.

He started the music archives in 1943 and in 1992 helped plan and design the Jimi Hendrix Museum.

Blecha was also a curator at the Experience Music Project, now called the Museum of Pop Culture.
