Bronco boys edge Jenkins, 43-40

Lind-Ritzville to host St George’s on Friday

CHEWELAH – The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague boys split in games last week, edging Jenkins on Jan. 13, but falling to Northwest Christian on Jan. 12.

The Broncos (8-8, 5-5 in league) edged the Jenkins Cougars, 43-40 in a Northeast 2B matchup.

Individual statistics weren’t reported for the game, but Broncos putting points on the board included Jerod Harder, Zach Klein, Damon Schilling, Joey Duff, Blake Earle, Bridger Moore, Brock Kinch, Lance Williamson and Shawn Steinberger.

Against the Crusaders, the Bronco boys rallied in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t make up the difference from the first three quarters. Northwest Christian had a 17-12 lead after the first quarter and a 35-22 lead at the half.

The Crusaders expanded the margin by 7 points in the third to take a 49-29 into the final stanza. The Broncos (7-8, 4-5 in league) rally closed the margin by 5 points, but not enough to overtake the Crusaders (8-6, 6-2 in league).

Against Northwest Christian, Williamson and Steinberger paced the Broncos with 12 points each, followed by Brock Kinch with 11. Moore scored 7 points and Harder 2.

This Friday, the Broncos host St. George’s. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.

Next week, they travel to Spangle for a 7:30 p.m. against the Liberty Lancers on Jan. 23.
