Frigid weather to set in over weekend

Overnight lows to drop to near 0

RITZVILLE – It’s about to get cold across Eastern Washington.

The National Weather Service is forecasting the coldest temperatures of this winter will set in over the area Thursday night. The frigid weather follows the expiration of a winter weather advisory and a wind advisory.

Residents can expect the daytime high to plummet from about 32 degrees on Thursday, Jan. 11, to a high of 14 degrees on Friday and 13 on Saturday.

And it’ll be much colder at night over the weekend.

On Friday night, the low is expected to be around 0 degrees, before bumping up to 1 degree Saturday night or early Sunday morning.

Snow isn’t likely.

But just in case, the Weather Service said there’s a 40% chance of snow Friday, 50% Saturday and 30% Sunday.
