Edwall receives new fire engine

EDWALL— The local fire station has a new fire engine in house at no cost to Fire District No. 4 thanks to the Federal Firefighter Property Program.

The engine, named Engine 461, is a 1995 Pierce Arrow originally built for the Marine Corps. It was stationed at Barstow Marine Base in Southern California, according to a press release from District Chief Jim Adams.

The Fire District obtained the engine from the Dept. of Natural Resources, which facilitates the Federal Firefighter Property program for the state, the press release said.
