Not quite a ring of fire

The annular solar eclipse Saturday, Oct. 14, didn't quite produce a "ring of fire" in the Pacific Northwest. Cloudy conditions and rain blocked viewing in most of southern Oregon. Those lucky enough to see the eclipse north of the maximum depth window, which included Washington state, were treated to only a partial eclipse, often through a thin layer of clouds.
