State seeks comments on e-tagging

Fishermen, hunters, asked to weigh in

OLYMPIA – The state Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking comments on proposed rule to allow electronic licensing, e-tagging, and catch reporting using mobile applications.

Currently, the public can buy hunting and fishing licenses by phone, online or in-person, but harvest and catch reporting has been limited to submitting a physical card or reporting online.

A proposed new rule would allow hunters and fishermen to report using authorized mobile apps, which are currently in development.
