Heist hired as evidence technician

Former Central student joins Sheriff's Office

RITZVILLE – The Adams County Sheriff's Office has hired a new evidence technician.

Raegan Heist will handle and document evidence, maintain chain-of-custody, organize evidence storage and ensure all evidentiary rules and procedures are followed.

"The duties of an evidence technician are diverse and essential to the success of our operations," Sheriff Wagner said after announcing Heist's employment Aug. 16. "They contribute directly to maintaining the integrity of our cases and the justice we seek to uphold."

According to Wagner, Heist attended Central Washington University.

"Raegan comes to us with a strong background and a deep passion for the work we do," the sheriff said. "Her dedication and enthusiasm are truly commendable, and we are fortunate to have her on board. Raegan's attention to detail, commitment to accuracy and her educational background make her an excellent fit for this role."

Wagner said Heist brings the knowledge and dedication needed by law enforcement.

"Let's all extend our warmest welcome to Raegan on this new journey with us," he said. "Her passion for our field and her dedication to her work are qualities that will undoubtedly make her an asset to our team."
