Fall sports get underway

RITZVILLE – Fall school sports got underway Tuesday, Aug. 15, with a preseason meeting in Gilson Gymnasium.

Middle and high school athletes turned in their forms and paid athletic and other fees prior to the start of the 6 p.m. meeting in which Athletic Director Dustan Arlt and coaches for boys football, girls volleyball, cross country and cheerleading discussed season requirements and expectations with parents and athletes.

This year, all athletes are required to register with the online company Final Forms to compete. Computers were set up at the meeting allowing parents to register children.

High school football practices start today, Wednesday, Aug. 16. Wednesday and Thursday practices are set for 6-8 p.m .; Friday practice will be from 5-7:15 p.m.

A pool party for high school football players is set for 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Ritzville Water Park, 105 E. 10th Ave.

Two-a-day practices start Saturday, with sessions from 8-10 a.m. and
