Question 1: What steps would you take to encourage new development in Ritzville?
I believe that it is important for new development to have access to all the required development costs so that they can make good business choices. I believe that the City has good data to back up all the current and future development fees. Development fees are very important so that development pays for development and that our existing community/customers that have paid for the existing improvements aren’t paying for new development.
Question 2: What steps would you take to ensure that the city hires reliable contractors for public service projects such as wells, roundabouts, etc?
I have been part of the City of Ritzville Council since 2006 and I believe that we have always looked out for the best interest of the City and its Citizens and followed the state and federal laws when it comes to selecting contractors. There have been some contractor issues that have delayed projects but the project has always been completed.
