The following questions were answered by candidates in 100 words or less. We do not edit the answers, other than to enforce the word limit.

Question 1: What steps would you take to encourage new development in Ritzville? We have motivated and interested people and parties who are ready to invest in Ritzville now and more who will in the future. The City Government of Ritzville needs to make sure there is support and a clear path toward development for those investors. As Mayor, I would ensure our City Council has the appropriate information presented to them regarding zoning and City Code, state law and the impact of these investments. I would also work with property owners and the Chamber of Commerce to ensure more developers, entrepreneurs and potential homeowners are approached to bring their investments to Ritzville.

Question 2: What steps would you take to ensure that the city hires reliable contractors for public service projects such as wells, roundabouts, etc? When seeking out reliable contractors or subcontractors there are three major factors one should consider: 1) Qualifications of the Contractor 2) Proven work history and 3) A Competitive and Realistic bid. As Mayor, I will ensure we solicit multiple bids for contract work and select from the best quality, lowest bidder for our projects. This requires due diligence from the selection committee to research the background, history and qualifications of each contractor in advance. As your next Mayor, I will put Ritzville First in Adams County and we will write our small-town comeback story together! Thank you for your support.
