Candidate forum being considered

RITZVILLE – Mayor Linda Kadlec may schedule a public forum to enable residents to hear from candidates vying for mayor, City Council and other elected positions.

According to City Clerk-Treasurer Julie Flyckt, details for a candidate forum have yet to be announced.

So far, five candidates have filed for the position of Ritzville Mayor.

They include Jack Curtis, Keanu Niezwaag, Glen Stockwell, Scott Yeager and Cory W. Bartlett, records show.

Ten candidates have filed for City Council seats.

Candidates for at-large positions include Jen Verhey, Marsha Smith, Charles Fred Jingling, Dan Peters and Gregory V. Granger.

Candidates for Ward No. 1 include Jessica Quinn, Dede Boyer and David Dahill; for Ward No. 2, Garrett Alan Blauert; and for Ward No. 4, Dennis R. Chamberlain.

In addition, three candidates have filed for Ritzville’s Park and Recreation districts.

These include two candidates for District No. 4: Andrea Heider (Commissioner No. 3) and Amber Moore (Commissioner No. 4).

The sole candidate for District No. 5 (Commissioner No. 5) is Elena McKenzie.
