Girls season ends in Spokane

Two Broncos named to All-League teams

SPOKANE – The Broncos girls fastpitch softball season came to an end Saturday, May 20, at the hands of a familiar foe.

The Jenkins Cougars from Chewelah edged the local Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls, 3-1, in a loser-out, consolation round game in the District 7 Class 2B tournament at the Merkel Sports Complex.

The Broncos entered the tournament as the No. 5 seed and Jenkins as No. 3. Jenkins was then eliminated by No. 4-ranked Liberty (Spangle), 7-1.

Northwest Christian (Colbert) won the district title with a narrow, 2-1, winner over top-seeded Colfax.
