State repairing weight sensors

Traffic affected on U.S. 395 south of town

RITZVILLE – Travelers who use U.S. Highway 395 south were reminded to plan additional travel time Tuesday, May 16.

The state Department of Transportation was planning to repair sensors at the weigh-in-motion site three miles south of town.

Work was scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.

Travelers were warned to expect a single, right lane closure in both north and southbound directions south of the Interstate 90 interchange.

Weigh-in-motion sites allow commercial vehicles to be weighed by driving over a sensor in the pavement rather than stopping and pulling into a traditional weigh station.
