Cub Scouts beautify the city

Youth plant trees and collect cans

RITZVILLE – Cub Scouts from Pack No. 73 are doing their part to beautify the city.

On May 1, the scouts planted trees to improve the city's aesthetic.

"These kids worked hard planting," organizer Crystal Reitan said, noting several scouts participated in the event including Samuel Vance, Isaiah Cox, Elizabeth Reitan, Talia Marshall and Colton Vance.

In addition to the tree-planting, the scouts are collecting aluminum cans.

The youngsters will take the aluminum to a recycling center to earn money to fund more community projects, organizer Crystal Reitan said.
