Activities taking place in Washtucna

WASHTUCNA – School District supporters are planning a Family Game night and other activities for Wednesday, May 24.

The day will include a book fair that opens in the school, 730 Booth Ave., at 3:30 p.m.

At 5 p.m., there will be a Spaghetti Feed fundraiser.

At 6 p.m., parents, teachers and others will meet to discuss this year's planned trip for sixth-graders to go to Camp Wooten.

And from 5-7 p.m., game night will take place.

The event is for families and adults; students must be accompanied by a parent.

In other activities at the school:

The Washtucna FFA team recently went to Ellensburg to participate in a horse-judging competition. The local team finished 16th out of 35 teams.

The district will host its annual kindergarten roundup Tuesday, May 16.

Parents and prospective students can see classrooms and meet the staff from 8-9:30 a.m.

Children must be at least 3 years old by Aug. 31 to attend preschool in the fall.

To attend kindergarten, students must be at least 5 years old by that date.
