Election Office readies for filings

RITZVILLE – The Adams County Auditor’s Office is gearing up for election season.

Candidate filing runs from Monday, May 15, through Friday, May 19.

Dozens of offices will be on the ballot this year, including Ritzville mayor and four seats on the City Council.

Othello and Hatton, too have for seats open on their councils, with the Hatton mayoral position up for grabs, too.

Washtucna has three town council seats on the ballot.

School districts with positions on the ballot include North Franklin, three seats; Othello, three seats; Benge, four seats; Washtucna, two seats; LaCrosse, three seats; Lamont, four seats; Endicott, three seats; Lind, four seats; Ritzville, three seats; Odessa, three seats, Sprague, three seats and Warden, three seats.

School districts with positions on the ballot include North Franklin, 3 seats; Othello, 3 seats; Benge, 4 seats; Washtucna, 2 seats; LaCrosse, 3 seats; Lamont, 4 seats; Endicott 3 seats; Lind, 4 seats; Ritzville, 3 seats; Odessa, 3 seats, Sprague, 3 seats and Warden, 3 seats.

Other positions include on the ballot include one on Port District No. 1, two seats each on hospital Districts Nos. 2 and 3; and one on the Lind Town Council.

Most of the fire districts all have at least one seat open as do the Lind, Othello, Ritzville and Washtucna parks and recreation districts.

Candidates will also have a chance to file for office for a number of cemetery districts and on Water District No. 1.

Residents planning to run for office will have to pay a fee at the time of filing.

In-person filing is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Adams County Elections Office, 106 W. Main St.

Candidates may also file online at http://www.co.adams.wa.us, from 9 a.m. May 15 to 4 p.m. May 19.
