Miller wins girls discuss

EPHRATA — The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls finished tied for 13th in the Ray Cross Invitational Track Meet on Saturday, March 25.

The local girls tied with Omak; each at 12 points. The Richland Bomber girls won the meet with 104 team points, followed by Moses Lake with 94.

Okanogan was the top 2B team, finishing third with 80 team points.

Although the Bronco boys also competed, they did not score any team points.

Southridge won the boys meet with 117 points, followed by Ephrata with 111.

Senior Myra Miller was the top athlete for the Broncos, winning the girls discus event and finishing tied for eighth in shot put.

Miller won discus with a toss of 118 feet 7 inches.

In shot put, she tied with Chloe Waddell of St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse, each with a distance of 30 feet 2.5 inches.

In other results for the Bronco girls:

Addy Colbert finished 46th in the 100-meter with a time of 15.60 seconds.

Zoe Galbreath was 35th in the 200-meter with a time of 31.43 seconds, a personal record for her. Colbert was 43rd with a time of 33.30 seconds, also a personal record.

Brooklyn Norton was 38th in javelin, with a distance of 54 feet 4 inches, a personal record.

Galbreath was ninth in pole vault, clearing a height of 7 foot 6 inches.

In long jump, Galbreath was 27th and Colbert was 36th, with jumps of 12 feet 7.5 inches and 11 feet 2.5 inches, respectively.

In boys results for Lind-Ritzville:

Freshman Damon Schilling was 34th in the 100-meter with a time of 12.99 seconds.

Schilling was also 33rd in the 200-meter, finishing in 27.24 seconds. Sophomore Fredy Gradados-Lopez was 43rd with a time of 29.71. Both were personal records.

Junior Shawn Steinberger was 17th in the 400-meter, with a time of 57.82 seconds.

In the 800-meter, freshman Waylon Rosman was 32nd with a time of 2:33.05.

Junior Bridger Moore led the way for the Broncos in the 1,600-meter, finishing 33rd with a time of 5:37.55. Junior teammate Caleb Heater was 39th with a time of 5:58.22.

In the 3,200-meter, sophomore J.P. McAnally was 17th with a time of 12:26.56.

Sophomore Carson Kubik was 30th in the 300-meter low hurdles with a time of 53.61 seconds.

The team of Steinberger, Kubik, Schilling and Hayden Melcher combined to finish 16th as a tin the 4X400 relay with a time of 52.99 seconds.

In 12-pound shot put, sophomore Alexis Mendoza was 46th with a distance of 27 feet 7.25 inches. Freshman teammate Erik Klewin was 56th with a time of 20 feet 9 inches.

In Javeline, Heater was 36th with a distance of 96 feet 7 inches.

Kubik was 14th in pole vault with a height of 8 feet.

In long jump, Steinberger was 25th with a distance of 16 feet 9 inches; Schilling was 40th with 14 feet 8 inches.

McAnally was 17th in triple jump with a distance of 25 feet 9.5 inches.
