Crusaders sweep Broncos

Local team on the road this week

COLBERT — The Northwest Christian (Colbert) Crusaders swept the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos in a girls 2B doubleheader softball matchup Saturday, March 25.

The Crusaders (2-0) won the opener, 12-1, and the nightcap, 13-6, over the Broncos (1-5 overall, 0-2 in league).

In the first game, Crusader pitcher Katie Coriell allowed just four hits. Madisyn Cameron had two hits, and Harlee Hennings and Preslee O’Brien each had one for the Broncos. Meanwhile, Northwest Christian had 13 hits and only 1 error.

The Broncos posted 10 errors in the game.

In the second game, the Broncos had 7 hits. The Broncos were led by Cameron with 3.

Saige Galbreath added 2 and Hannah Towne and Hennings each added 1.

Galbreath had a double and Cameron a triple for the Broncos.

The Bronco girls travel to Colfax on Wednesday, March 29, for a doubleheader that begins at 2 p.m. The nightcap begins at 4 p.m.

On Saturday, April 1, the local girls travel to Asotin to take on the Panthers in another doubleheader. The opening pitch is at noon .
