Track season begins this week

RITZVILLE — The Broncos’ 2023 boys and girls track season gets underway this week with two meets.

On Tuesday, the Lind-Ritzville/Sprague team was scheduled to head to Asotin for the seaon-opening meet.

Results were not available prior to press time.

Then on Saturday, March 25, the Broncos will compete in the 47th annual Ray Cross Invitational Track and Field Meet in Ephrata. That meet traditionally features more than two dozen teams from small and large schools alike competing against each other.

The meet gets underway with opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. Field competitions start at 10:20 a.m. and races start at 10:45 a.m. at the high school, 333 Fourth Ave. N.W.

This year’s track team features several boys and girls.

Representing the boys are Aidan Miller, Alexis Mendoza, Caleb Heater, Carson Kubik, Damon Schilling, Erik Klewin, Fredy Gradados-Lopez, Hayden Melcher, John Stromberger, J.P. McAnally, Kaleb Kuykendall, Shawn Steinberger, Waylon Rosman and Wyatt Rosman.

For the girls, Addy Colbert, Brooklyn Norton, Claire Wellsandt, Danika Cox, Emily Balfe, Emmy Klewin, McKaylynn Yarnell, Monzerrat Romero, Myra Miller, Raegan Snider, Temple Gegre and Zoe Galbreath will be competing.
