State seeks hydraulic board members

OLYMPIA — The state Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking candidates to fill seven positions on a volunteer committee that advises the agency on administering the Hydraulic Code designed to protect fish.

The Hydraulic Code has been in effect since 1943 to ensure projects such as bulkheads, culverts and dock construction meet state standards for fish and shellfish protection.

The department will accept applications and nominations to its Hydraulic Code Implementation Community Advisory Group through April 7.
