Washtucna plans March activities

WASHTUCNA — The town has several events planned during the month of March, including a focus on music.

This week, local school musicians are participating in the Southeast Washington Music Educators High School Honor Choir and Band Festival in Clarkston.

The event took place Monday, March 6, in the Clarkston High School auditorium.

But if you missed it, don’t worry. More musical events are planned.

On Tuesday, March 21, student musicians will travel to Colfax for the Southeast Washington Music Educators High School Large Group Festival.

That event takes place throughout the school day at Colfax High School, 1110 N. Morton St., Colfax.

Another musical event is planned for Friday, March 24, as the Missoula Children’s Theatre and LaCrosse School host afternoon and evening performances.

Students from both Washtucna and LaCrosse will be performing, officials said.

And then on Thursday, March 30, The Hangar in Ritzville will host a Dance recital.

Students in Karen Kinch’s class will perform at 7 p.m.

Other events slated for March include:

March 8 and 22 — Town Council meeting

March 13 — Fire District Commissioners meeting

March 25 — Lion’s Club Bingo. Doors open at 5 p.m .; Bingo starts at 6 p.m.

March 27 — Food Bank distribution from 3-7 p.m.

March 28 — School Board meeting

March 29-30 — Spring student-parent-teacher conferences
