Patrols increase ahead of holiday

WASHTUCNA – The Washington State Patrol has stepped up its patrols in advance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday and increased student travel to and from Washington State University.

The increased patrols will run through Nov. 26, officials said, noting troopers will be focusing on speed, driving too fast for conditions, using a cell phone while driving, drunken driven and other issues.

Stepped up patrols will be concentrated on state Highway 26 through Adams County and U.S. Highway 195 in Whitman and Spokane counties.
